Space elevator
ØThe space elevator – a space bridge, connecting the Earth withspace via a cable.
Ø Permit sending objects and astronauts to space at a minimal cost.
Ø Science fiction into reality is the carbon nanotubes.
Ø A ribbon made of carbon nanotubes, would be strong enough to
support its own weight as well as the weight of vehicles climbing up
the ribbon from the ground to a geosynchronous orbit.
Ø A space elevator would need a cable at least 66000miles long and it
would have to be very strong.
